Setting Image Resolution


There are two ways in which you can set the image resolution of graphics created by Paint Shop Pro (PSP). Both are detailed below:

Option 1 - Set the default image resolution

After PSP has openend, click on File, then Preferences, and then General Program Preferences. The general program preferences window will appear. In the left menu click on Units and then change the default resolution to 72 pixels per inch (see the image below) and press OK. This will set the default for all new images created by PSP to 72 pixels (or dots) per inch. If you are in pixels per centimeter the setting is 28.35.



Option 2 - Set the image resolution on an created image

After PSP has openend and you have opened your image, click on Image, then Resize. The image resize window will appear. Make sure both Lock Aspect Ratio is checked and set to 1 to 1 and resize all layers is checked. Change the resolution to 72 pixels per inch (see the image below), verify both the height and width are set to 100 percent and press OK. This will set the resolution of this image to 72 pixels (or dots) per inch and keep it the current size. If you are in pixels per centimeter the setting is 28.35.
