Glossary of Terms

CEAD - Copyright Education Awareness and Development - A program created by CILM to increase copyright awareness on the internet.

CILM - Creative Image Licensing & Management (Not to be confused with "CLIM". We don't know what "CLIM" is and don't want to know.)

Closeout Packages - Packages that will no longer be available at CILM for purchase after a certain date. They are commonly associated with artists that are leaving CILM.

Closeup - A detailed view of a particular image. Usually 360 pixels x 360 pixels.

Combo Packages - The total collection of images/tubes that one artist has released to the signature tag market. They are located on each artists page. You can find all artists who have combo packs listed HERE

Copyright - A term that refers to the individual or entity that owns the rights to a particular image.

Custom Package - A particular amount of images that are hand-picked by CILM customers. The are available in 3-packs, 6-packs, and 12-packs ($2 handling charge applies to the 6 and 12 packs). Go HERE to order custom packs.

Fair Use - A commonly misunderstood copyright law. Go HERE for more information.

Hours of Operation - Refers to the hours that CILM is open for business. Go HERE.

Gift Certificates - a dollar amount purchase.

Image - Graphics that contain the images as the artist created it in its entirety. Includes the background. JPEG file format.

License - A unique number that is issued by CILM to someone that makes a purchase at CILM.

Lottery - A drawing that is held after a particular sale or promotion has been completed in which free packages are given away to CILM license holders. Lotteries are always announced (in a CILM Newsletter) at the beginning of a sale or promotion and they all vary as far as qualifications to enter. Please be sure to read the specific rules for every lottery.

Newsletter - An email newsletter that contains very important information about CILM. To stay totally informed about CILM subscribe and stay subscribed.

Packages - A collection of images/tubes, usually 6, created by one artist and sold together. A package is categorized by a letter in the alphabet and sometimes a letter followed by a number. Examples: Package A, A-1, B, C-2.

Package Upgrades - Refers to taking a previously released package and making improvements to the package. The packages need to be downloaded again to take advantage of the upgrade. Go HERE for recent package upgrades.

Plugin - A program add-on used to add unique effects to a graphic file.

PSD Format / PSD Image - A file that is saved in the native format of Adobe Photoshop.

PSP - Short for Corel Paint Shop Pro (not to be confused with Sony's Play Station Portable).

PSP Format / PSP Image - A file that is saved in the native format of Corel Paint Shop Pro.

Sale - A promotion that is announced in the CILM Newsletter which always involves a discount on certain products in the store and sometimes includes a lottery.

SAW - Spotlight Artist of the Week - Every week we select one or two artists to be the Spotlight Artist of the Week (SAW). This means that all week long those particular artists are 20% off of all regular packs (not custom packs).

Scrap Kit - Accessory packs that contain elements that embellish signature tag designs. Examples: Graphic bows, jewels, butterflies, borders, etc.

TOU - Terms of Use - Rules you must follow in order to use CILM Artist Images/Tubes.

Tube - The main element or subject in an image created by an artist professionally separated from the background and placed on a separate graphic layer. PSD or PSP file format.

Unlimited Usage - a package designed to give you all or most of the images an artist has released and will release in the future up to 1000 images, tubes and closeups.
